    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the EICR cost calculator?

It gives an indicative range based on the number of distribution boards and circuits, premises type and optional extras. The final fixed price is confirmed after a short call or a free site survey, because access, sampling and building use all affect the time needed.

What affects the cost of an EICR?

The main factors are the number of distribution boards and circuits, the type and use of the premises, access restrictions, whether testing must be done out of hours, and the availability of previous certificates and drawings.

Does the price include remedial work?

No. The estimate covers inspection, testing and the report. Any C1, C2 or FI observations are explained in the report and we provide a separate quotation for remedial works.

How often does a commercial property need an EICR?

IET Guidance Note 3 recommends maximum intervals depending on the premises u2014 typically up to five years for offices and shops, and more frequently for industrial premises, places of public entertainment and swimming pools. Your inspector may recommend a shorter interval based on condition.
