Accreditations
An NICEIC approved contractor you can verify
Accreditations give you independent evidence that a contractor is competent, safe and properly managed — not just a claim on a website.
JKS London is an NICEIC approved contractor. We also hold CHAS and SafeContractor health and safety accreditation, alongside other industry memberships shown below. Each scheme involves third-party assessment of our processes, people and work, so facilities managers and procurement teams can appoint us with confidence.

NICEIC
What being an NICEIC approved contractor means
NICEIC is one of the UK’s best-known certification bodies for the electrical contracting industry. Its Approved Contractor status shows that a business has been assessed as competent to carry out electrical work to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations.
Assessed work
NICEIC assessors inspect samples of an approved contractor’s completed work on site to check it complies with BS 7671.
Qualified supervision
Each approved contractor must nominate at least one Qualified Supervisor with responsibility for the technical standard of the electrical work.
Ongoing surveillance
Approval is not a one-off. Contractors are re-assessed annually, covering work, test equipment and calibration, records, procedures and qualifications.
For clients, that means EICRs, installation certificates and minor works certificates issued by a contractor whose competence is independently checked, with a recognised body behind it.
How to verify us: Always check a contractor’s status yourself. Use the contractor search on the NICEIC website to search by business name or postcode and confirm that JKS London Ltd is listed. Our guide to choosing an NICEIC-approved contractor explains what else to check.
Health & safety
CHAS and SafeContractor health and safety accreditation
Appointing a contractor means trusting them to work safely on your premises, around your staff, residents and customers. CHAS and SafeContractor are two widely recognised schemes that assess contractors’ health and safety management. Both are members of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement), which sets common core criteria for health and safety pre-qualification.
CHAS
CHAS assesses contractors against recognised health and safety criteria, reviewing documentation such as the health and safety policy, risk assessment and method statement arrangements, competence and training, accident reporting and how health and safety is managed on site. Many public-sector bodies and facilities management organisations use CHAS to pre-qualify their supply chain.
SafeContractor
SafeContractor reviews a contractor’s health and safety policies, procedures and supporting evidence — including risk assessments, method statements, training records and insurances — to confirm they meet the scheme’s requirements. Clients use it to reduce the time and risk involved in vetting contractors themselves.
For you, these accreditations mean less paperwork when onboarding us, and confidence that our safe systems of work — RAMS, permits to work, safe isolation and trained, carded operatives — have been independently reviewed.
Why it matters
Why accreditations matter when you appoint a contractor
Reduced risk
Duty holders must take reasonable steps to appoint competent contractors. Independent accreditation is strong evidence that you have done so.
Recognised certificates
Insurers, auditors, landlords and fire risk assessors recognise certification issued by an NICEIC approved contractor.
Faster onboarding
Health and safety pre-qualification through recognised schemes saves your team time when adding us to approved supplier lists.
Skills & people
The Skills Pledge and our apprentice commitment
Accreditations are only as good as the people behind them. We support The Skills Pledge, reflecting our commitment to helping our people develop their skills and gain recognised qualifications.
That commitment shows in our extensive apprentice programme, which brings new talent into the industry and trains it to our standards. It also shows in our people: in early 2020 our staff retention stood at 99%.
- Structured apprenticeships combining college study with supervised site experience
- Ongoing training as BS 7671 and other standards are amended
- Inspection and testing qualifications for engineers progressing into compliance roles
- Health and safety training appropriate to each role
