Our people
Qualified electrical engineers and M&E specialists you can rely on
Behind every certificate, maintenance visit and project is a team of directors, managers, engineers, tradespeople and apprentices who take pride in getting it right.
JKS London has been delivering electrical, mechanical and building services since 2004. Our in-house team means you deal with people who are employed, trained and supervised by us — not an anonymous chain of subcontractors. Many of our engineers have grown with the business through our apprentice programme, and in early 2020 our staff retention stood at 99%.
That continuity matters to clients. The engineers who visit your site get to know your building, your distribution boards, your access arrangements and your people — and that knowledge makes every visit safer and more efficient.
Team structure
How our team is organised
Each part of the team has a clear role, so responsibility for your work is never in doubt.
Directors & senior management
Set the company’s direction, standards and safety culture, oversee major contracts and remain accountable for the quality of every job we deliver.
Project managers
Plan and coordinate installations, refurbishments and maintenance programmes — scheduling, access, materials, risk assessments and progress reporting.
Contracts & compliance administration
Manage scheduling of recurring tests, certificates, reports, asset registers and documentation so your compliance records are complete and easy to find.
Electrical engineers & approved electricians
NICEIC-qualified engineers who carry out inspection and testing, fault-finding, maintenance and installation work to BS 7671.
Mechanical & building-fabric trades
Qualified tradesmen and tradeswomen covering mechanical services, building fabric repairs, refurbishment and redecoration.
Apprentices
The next generation of engineers, learning on real projects under close supervision while completing their college qualifications.
Working with you
A single point of contact for your buildings
We know facilities managers are busy. Chasing several contractors for updates, certificates and quotes wastes time, so we keep things simple:
- A named point of contact for your account, who understands your sites and your priorities.
- A dedicated project manager for installation and refurbishment work, responsible for programme, safety and handover.
- Agreed communication — start-of-works notices, progress updates and clear reporting when the job is done.
- Joined-up records so certificates, remedial quotes and maintenance reports all arrive in a consistent format.
Training & competence
Qualified to BS 7671 and trained to keep improving
Competence is the foundation of electrical safety. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 require that people working on electrical systems have the knowledge and experience to prevent danger, and our NICEIC approval is regularly assessed against BS 7671. Typical qualifications held across our engineering team include:
| Qualification / card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018) | Up-to-date knowledge of the current IET Wiring Regulations and their amendments |
| Inspection & testing (e.g. City & Guilds 2391) | Competence to carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing, and to complete EICRs |
| Level 3 electrical installation qualification and AM2 assessment | Recognised route to qualified electrician status |
| ECS / CSCS cards | Industry-recognised proof of identity, qualifications and health and safety awareness on site |
| Access equipment, first aid and asbestos awareness training | Role-specific safety training appropriate to the work being carried out |
We support continuing professional development, so engineers stay current as standards change — including amendments to BS 7671 and updates to emergency lighting and fire detection standards. Read our guide to BS 7671 amendments to see why that matters.
Health & safety culture
Safe systems of work on every site
Our people work in live environments — airport kitchens, retirement villages, hospitals, offices and shops. Keeping them, your staff and the public safe is non-negotiable.
RAMS
Site-specific risk assessments and method statements prepared and briefed before work starts.
Permits to work
We follow your permit and isolation procedures, with safe isolation and lock-off on electrical work.
Carded operatives
Engineers carry CSCS or ECS cards so site teams can confirm who is working on their premises.
Vetting where required
DBS checks and airside security vetting can be arranged where a contract or site requires them.
