JKS London Ltd wants everyone who visits our website to be able to find information about our services, request a quotation and book a service, whatever their ability or the technology they use. This accessibility statement explains what we have done, where we know there are limitations and how to contact us if you need help.
Last updated: 19 October 2026
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including people who are blind or partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing, or who have motor, cognitive or learning disabilities. Meeting them also makes the website easier to use for everyone, including people using mobile devices or slow connections.
We also recognise our duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not placed at a substantial disadvantage when using our services.
2. What we have done
We have designed and built this website with accessibility in mind. Measures include:
- Keyboard navigation: menus, links, buttons, forms, the booking checkout and interactive elements such as accordions can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator showing where you are on the page.
- Skip link: a “Skip to content” link at the top of each page lets keyboard and screen reader users bypass the main navigation.
- Reduced motion: scroll animations and animated counters respect the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system or browser. If you have chosen to reduce motion, content appears without animation.
- Text alternatives: informative images have descriptive alternative (alt) text, and purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Colour contrast: our colour palette has been chosen so that text and important interface elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds, and we do not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
- Resizable text: you can zoom to 200% and resize text using your browser settings without losing content or functionality, and the layout adapts to smaller screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Clear structure: pages use meaningful headings, lists and landmarks, so that screen reader users can navigate by heading or region.
- Accessible forms: form fields have visible labels, required fields are clearly marked, and error messages explain what needs to be corrected.
- Plain English: we try to explain technical subjects, such as EICR observation codes and maintenance standards, clearly and to define technical terms.
3. Known limitations
Although we work hard to make our website accessible, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following:
- PDF documents: some PDFs, including sample certificates, reports and documents produced by third-party software or by other organisations, may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Certificates such as EICRs and emergency lighting certificates follow formats set by industry bodies and software providers, which we cannot always change. If you need a document in an accessible format, please contact us.
- Embedded maps: embedded maps provided by third parties may not be fully usable by keyboard or screen reader users. Our address and directions are always given as text on the same page.
- Third-party services: some features rely on third-party services, such as our cookie consent banner and the payment pages provided by our payment gateway. We do not control their code, but we will raise any problems you report with the provider.
- Older content: some older articles or images may have less descriptive alt text or less consistent heading structure. We are reviewing these as we update our content.
4. Requesting information in another format
If you need any information on this website in a different format, such as large print, an accessible PDF, an easy-read summary, or a document read to you over the telephone, please contact us. We will consider your request and get back to you as soon as possible.
If you have difficulty using our online booking or quotation forms, you can also arrange a site visit or book a service by telephone or email instead.
5. Feedback and contact information
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you find a problem that is not listed in this statement, or you think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please tell us. Please include the web address of the page, a description of the problem and the assistive technology or browser you were using, if relevant.

6. Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010 in England, Scotland and Wales. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which provides advice on equality and human rights issues. You can find more information on the EHRC website.
7. How we test this website
We check the website using a combination of automated testing tools, manual keyboard-only testing, browser zoom and text-resizing checks, and testing with screen reader software. We carry out checks when we add new templates or features and review the website periodically.
8. Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 19 October 2026. It is based on a self-assessment of the website. We will review and update it when we make significant changes to the website, and at least once a year.
